Waldorf Crash Leaves Woman Trapped And Injured On Smallwood Drive

WALDORF, Md. — Emergency crews responded to a crash Thursday night on Smallwood Drive West in Waldorf that left one driver injured and temporarily trapped inside her vehicle.

On February 26, 2026, at approximately 8:39 p.m., units were dispatched to the 1100 block of Smallwood Drive West near Panda Express for a reported motor vehicle collision.

Upon arrival, responders determined one driver was trapped inside the vehicle due to damage to the door. The incident was upgraded to an extrication as crews worked to safely remove the patient.

Squad 3 established command and, along with additional units, successfully extricated the driver. Command was later terminated after the situation was stabilized.

The 62-year-old woman was transported to UM Charles Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
