
WALDORF, Md. – Two separate house fires that broke out within hours of each other in Waldorf on February 26, 2024, are currently under investigation by the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
The first fire occurred shortly after midnight, and details of this incident can be found here.
The second fire was reported at 3:26 a.m. on La Plata Road near Leonardtown Road. Upon arrival, crews found a two-story home with visible smoke. The fire, which had originated in the kitchen, was quickly brought under control by 36 firefighters within 15 minutes.
The home’s occupants were alerted by the smoke detectors, and the fire alarm system activated, promptly notifying ADT Security. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
The fire has caused an estimated loss of $12,000 to the structure, and content loss is estimated at $1,000. The preliminary cause of the fire is currently being investigated.
