Wanted Suspect Leads Police On Foot Chase; Two Annapolis Men Arrested With Ghost Gun And Drugs

BROOKLYN PARK, Md. — Two Annapolis men were arrested Wednesday afternoon after Anne Arundel County Police discovered drugs and a firearm during an investigation in Brooklyn Park.

At approximately 12:30 p.m., on January 22, 2025, officers patrolling near Patrick Henry and Dell streets spotted an unoccupied stolen vehicle and a suspicious blue Nissan Altima. Police said the Altima’s registered owner was wanted on outstanding warrants.

When officers approached, the owner of the Altima, later identified as Isaiah Cooper, 21, attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended after a brief chase. A second suspect, 23-year-old Everett Eugene Weems, was detained from the passenger side of the vehicle.

A search of the Nissan Altima uncovered numerous suspected Suboxone strips, approximately 202 grams of marijuana, and a 9mm black semi-automatic ghost gun.

Both men face multiple charges.

Charges Against Cooper:

  • Possession with intent to distribute controlled dangerous substances (CDS) – two counts
  • Possession of CDS: not cannabis
  • Possession of cannabis exceeding civil limits
  • Resisting/interfering with arrest
  • Handgun in a vehicle
  • Violation of extreme protective order
  • Firearm possession with criminal violence or felony conviction
  • Illegal possession of a regulated firearm – three counts

Charges Against Weems:

  • Possession with intent to distribute controlled dangerous substances (CDS) – two counts
  • Possession of CDS: not cannabis
  • Possession of cannabis exceeding civil limits
  • Handgun in a vehicle

Cooper and Weems are currently being held without bond, according to police.
