Leonardtown, MD— Port of Leonardtown Winery receives worldwide recognition taking home both Gold and Silver in the esteemed Finger Lakes International Wine Competition (FLIWC).ย  FLIWC, held this year March 18-20 in Rochester NY, is known as the โ€œworldโ€™s largest charitable wine competitionโ€ with over 900 wineries from 26 countries, 6 Canadian provinces and 50 United States submitting over 3,800 wines.ย  Wines are blind judged in flights by over 70 judges from 20 countries.

Winning awards for each of the four wines entered, Port of Leonardtown (POL) is honored to be counted in this yearโ€™s Gold and Silver recipients amongst so many noteworthy competitors.ย  POLโ€™s 2014 “1634 Barrel Fermented Chardonnay” received 2016 Gold.ย  Silver Medals were awarded to POLโ€™s “5th Anniversary Red”, “5th Anniversary White” and 2013 “Vintner’s Select Red Lot 13” (VS Red Lot 13 is currently available to Captainโ€™s Club members only). ย 

Our winery is comprised of 11 cooperative vineyards in St. Maryโ€™s, Charles, Calvert and Kent counties.ย  Weโ€™re thrilled to be serving Southern Maryland and its visitors by bringing award-winning Maryland wine from local vineyards to your table for 6 consecutive years.ย  The winery and tasting room are located at the heart of Port of Leonardtown Park.
