On May 22, Deputy Ellis responded to a residence on Carmen Woods Drive in Lexington Park, for a report of an assault.
Investigation revealed the victim was in a verbal dispute with Darryl Bates, II, 27 of Lexington Park, which escalated into a physical assault when Bates grabbed her by the wrist and throat and choked her.
Bates was arrested and charged with second-degree assault.
