NEWBURG, Md. — A woman in her 60s was injured early Wednesday morning after a single-vehicle rollover crash on Rock Point Road in Newburg left her trapped inside the vehicle and brought down utility poles.
The crash was reported around 12:15 a.m. on Aug. 26, 2026, in the 15100 block of Rock Point Road.
Initial reports indicated the vehicle had left the roadway and overturned, with the woman trapped inside. She was reportedly bleeding from the head, although the extent of her other injuries was not immediately clear.

Two utility poles were also reported down at the scene. Responders were initially warned not to touch the vehicle because SMECO could not immediately confirm that the power had been shut off.
Crews later confirmed power had been cut and began extrication operations.
The woman was freed from the vehicle shortly before 1 a.m.
She was transported by ambulance to the UM Capital Region Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
