On March 11, deputies responded to the McKay’s store on Great Mills Road in Lexington Park for a report of a theft.
Investigation revealed Shane Deon Collins, 34 of no fixed address, grabbed the victim’s purse from a shopping cart and attempted flee the store.
Collins was stopped and detained by McKay’s Loss Prevention Officer until deputies arrived. Collins was charged with theft under $1,000.
