PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — Emergency crews responded Friday morning to a serious two-vehicle crash on southbound Route 4 near Sixes Road that temporarily shut down traffic in the area.

The collision occurred around 10:45 a.m. on Jan. 9, 2026. Responding units found a work truck overturned at the scene and a passenger vehicle with a small fire in its engine compartment. Engine 22 quickly extinguished the fire, preventing further damage.

One individual was evaluated at the scene for minor injuries. No additional injuries were immediately reported.

Southbound Route 4 at Sixes Road was closed for a period of time as emergency personnel worked to clear the roadway and investigators examined the scene.

Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
