Mechanicsville, MD —  St. Mary’s County Crime Solvers has received $10,000 in donations for the reward in a shocking case of animal cruelty that happened last month in Mechanicsville.

The reward is offered for information leading to the arrest or indictment of the person or persons responsible for the deaths of two dogs. told you back on July 15 that two large Black Labrador Retrievers had been beheaded and discarded in the area of Parlett Morgan Road on July 14.

A Sheriff’s Deputy responded to the 40400-block of Parlett Morgan Road in Mechanicsville, where the two dead dogs were found in a wooded area.

“The dogs were determined to be Black Labrador Retrievers, both weighing over 80 pounds,” the report read in part. “The dogs had been decapitated and discarded in the wooded area.”

It was determined by animal control that the dogs had been discarded within the last 48 hours.

The St. Mary’s County Crime Solvers Board of Directors thanked the community for their generous donations to aid in the resolution of this heinous case.
