A 17-year-old driver was flown to Prince Georges County Hospital after sustaining injuries in a crash with a public bus at the intersection of Great Mills Road and Route 235 in Lexington Park.
Volunteer firefighters and rescue squad members based in Lexington Park were dispatched at 8:50 p.m. for the crash. Rescue workers found the driver of the car sustained serious head trauma in the head-on crash with an STS bus.
The driver appeared to have lost control and crossed into the path of the bus just prior to the crash.
A second person was taken to St. Maryโs Hospital by Lexington Park Volunteer Rescue Squad ambulance. The second injured person is believed to have been in the bus, but The Bay Net has not yet confirmed this detail.
Maryland State Police helicopter Trooper 2 flew the 17-year-old to PG shock trauma.
