Four officers from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office passed the torch to an athlete who tested their running capabilities as he darting off in a run with the torch. The crowd loved it and it brought laughter to everyone watching, as well as the officers.
Competitions such as long jump, high jump, races, shot-put, bowling, and many more brought smiles to the special athletesโ faces. The athletes won medals for their wins. This was the organizationโs 42nd year for the Spring Games.
Proud family members cheered for their loved ones that were competing. Each athlete was paired with a ย volunteer. Volunteers consisted of police officers, local students, staff members from local supporting businesses, and family members.
