Editors Note: Initial reports claimed the injury was caused by a firearm. The Baynet has learned the injury was caused by a firework explosion in the patients hand.
Charles County, MD- On January 5th, 2024, at about 10:13am, emergency units responded to the 6500 block of Marion Adams Place for a report of an accidental shooting. Initial reports revealed the 30-year-old male was cleaning his firearm when it discharged and caused serious injury to his hand.
The injury required a tourniquet prior being transported to the hospital via helicopter. The Baynet will update as more information becomes available.
