At 9:47 p.m. on May 4, Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to Lancaster Circle at Becard Court in Waldorf for the report of a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian.
Investigation revealed a 1984 Volvo station wagon driven by George Montrell Brooks, 48, of Waldorf was traveling east on Lancaster Circle when he struck a man, who was crossing the roadway.
The victim, Antonio Algeria, 60, of Waldorf, suffered life-threatening injuries and was flown to Surburban Hospital. He is in stable condition at this time.
Speed was not a factor. The victim was wearing dark clothing and was not crossing at a crosswalk.
