June 26, 2019, Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center, Solomons, Maryland – The public is invited to purchase tickets for a Groovy Garden Gala to take place at Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center on Friday, July 12, 7-10pm. Grab your love beads, dust off your 45s, and dig out your bell bottoms for a night of peace, love, art, flowers, and music. It’s a night of retro adult fun, hosted by Annmarie Garden and the Calvert Garden Club, all for the good cause of supporting the mission of Annmarie Garden. The night will feature far-out floral designs inspired by works of art in the galleries. Groove to the music of Latrice Carr and have fun with 70s themed décor and photo-ops. Enjoy wine and liquor selections inspired by the art, along with sweet and savory samplings from a variety of caterers and restaurants, including Range & Reef, who will fire up their grills cooking fresh seafood and beef. Guest artists will be featured in the Floral Quick Draw, with their on-the-spot creations to be auctioned off during the event. Party-goers won’t want to miss the dynamite fun of the “Wine Pull with a Twist,” where you could win a bottle of Dom Perignon – or some rot gut! Period attire, jewelry, and slang is encouraged, or accessorize at one of our makeover stations!
Proceeds from the event will benefit Annmarie Garden’s “Growing the Garden” Campaign. The campaign will help transform the garden into a haven of native grasses, perennials, trees, and shrubs adding more than 2,000 native plants. Your support will have a lasting impact on the special place where art and nature meet. Tickets are $60.00 for Annmarie and Calvert Garden Club members, and $70.00 for non-members.
