Road shut down due to chemical spill–UPDATE

Advisory: At 4:51 p.m. northbound Route 2.4 at Calverton School Road was reopened.

UPDATE – 2:57 p.m. – The spill has been contained. No transports are required.

UPDATE – 2:48 p.m. – Maryland Department of the Environment has been notified and is responding to the scene.

Huntingtown, MD – Feb. 9, 2:34 p.m. – Units are on the scene of an overturned truck with a chemical spill at Northbound Route 4 and Bowie Shop Road. 

Northbound Route 4 has been shut down.

Please avoid the area.
