At 12:30 a.m. today, the Prince Frederick Maryland State Police Barrack received information that Russell Lee Wood Jr., 41, of Lusby, had violated an existing Protective Order.ย Investigation determined that the suspect had entered the premises of 846 Glen Forest Road, Chesapeake Ranch Estates, Lusby, and made numerous threatening cell phone calls to his estranged wife Alice F. Wood, 41, of Lusby,
TFC S. Keen and Trooper Dawson responded to the suspectโs address. Upon observing the suspect, Mr. Wood locked himself in his residence, turned off the lights and refused to communicate with the police.
TFC Bowling and Sergeant Hurlock of the Charles County Sheriffโs Office responded to assist.
A perimeter was established to prevent the suspectโs escape and police determined that no other individuals were in the residence.
Additional MSP resources were activated and attempts to contact the suspect were continued.ย At approximately 2:15 AM, the suspect surrendered to police without incident.
Mr. Wood was charged with violating a protective order and incarcerated in the Calvert County Detention Center pending a District Court Commissionerโs hearing. Investigation is continuing.
