Adrianna Bethany Alicka

HUGHESVILLE, Md. — The Hughesville community is remembering 19-year-old Adrianna Bethany Alicka as a vibrant young woman whose warmth, drive and entrepreneurial spirit touched countless lives before her tragic death in a car crash this week.

Police said Alicka was a passenger in a vehicle traveling southbound on Tippett Road in Clinton around 10:45 p.m. on Aug. 6 when the driver lost control and struck a utility pole. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Another passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and the driver was not hurt. The crash remains under investigation.

Born Aug. 16, 2005, in O’Fallon, Missouri, Alicka grew up in Hughesville and made a name for herself early. At just 16, she launched her own beauty business, AdriDidMyLashes, building her brand and website on her own. Clients remember her as talented, uplifting and dedicated to making people feel their best.

“She was an extraordinary young woman with a kind heart and was so hopeful for her life,” her brother, Ryan Alicka, wrote on a GoFundMe page created to help with memorial expenses. “She always saw the bright in the dark and would only try to make others happy.”

The fundraiser — which has raised more than $5,500 toward its $10,000 goal — has been filled with tributes from friends and clients. “Adri was a beautiful soul! Full of positivity and was wonderful at what she did,” wrote one supporter. Another remembered her as “the sweetest and most thoughtful person” who became a friend as well as a trusted lash artist.

Outside of her work, Alicka loved traveling, reading motivational books and living by her motto: “Take action over anything you can control.” Her family said she lit up every room she entered, often with a matcha latte and avocado toast in hand.

She is survived by her parents, siblings, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Aug. 14 from 5 to 7 p.m., with prayers at 7 p.m., at Brinsfield Funeral Home in Charlotte Hall.
