UPDATE: We previously reported on a fire that first responders handled yesterday afternoon. The Mechanicsville Volunteer Fire Department recently posted photos from the scene which can be found throughout the article.

One patient was eventually flown to a nearby burn center for their injuries, and the property is still being assessed for total damages.

MECHANICSVILLE, Md. — We are receiving reports of a house fire in Mechanicsville.

At approximately 12:15 PM on June 26, first responders were dispatched to the scene of Birch Manor Circle in Mechanicsville. Units that were previously outside the neighborhood arrived within one minute and found fire showing from a one-story, single-family home.

One person who evacuated the building has reportedly been burned. We do not currently know the status of those burns or any other injuries.
