UPDATE: Maryland State Police are on the scene of a small plane crash that occurred this morning in Charles County.

Troopers from the La Plata Barrack responded at 945 a.m. to a wooded area in Bryans Road, Maryland near Maryland Airport for a report of a plane crash. According to a preliminary investigation, two people were on board the Cessna and no injuries were reported.

According to a preliminary investigation, the Cessna for unknown reasons hit a treeline before crashing. Hazmat crews are on the scene to assist with spilled fuel. The Federal Aviation Administration has been notified.


BRYANS ROAD, Md. –ย  On February 17, 2021, at approximately 9:50 a.m., emergency units responded to the area of 6290 Bumpy Oak Road, 1 mile in/off of the Hiker-Biker Trail, 150 feet from trail in a swampy area for the reported plane crash.

The pilots reported an active fuel leak.ย 

First units on the scene found a small single engine plane with the two occupants out of the plane. No injuries have been reported.

The FAA has been notified and should be in route.
