CALIFORNIA, Md. — We are receiving reports of a motor vehicle accident this morning that had put one vehicle on its side.

At approximately 9:15 a.m. on November 21, first responders were called to the scene of a motor vehicle crash involving two vehicles. The caller had advised that one of the vehicles had overturned and that the passengers were trapped inside.

Upon arrival, crews found the vehicles, one of which had gone off the road. The second vehicle had turned onto the driver side and was being held up by the median. Two passengers were located inside the overturned vehicle, but were described by first responders as conscious and alert.

Fire departments on the scene would have to cut open the windows of the vehicle in order to extricate the patients before bringing the vehicle back onto its wheels.

All patients on the scene are believed at this time to have signed refusals for further medical attention.

Expect the road to remain closed for an extended period of time to clear the scene.

This is a developing story. We will continue to provide additional information as it comes available.
