At 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, two vehicles collided at the intersection of Great Mills Road and Shangri-La Drive, sending a Dodge Caravan on its side.

A St. Maryโ€™s County Sheriffโ€™s deputy was at the intersection heading north on Shangri-La when the crash occurred. The vehicle in front of the deputy, a Saturn, proceeded through a red lightย and struck the Caravan heading east on Great Mills Road.

Two people were initially thought to be injured, and two volunteer rescue squad ambulances responded to the scene, but after checking out those involved, all signed refusals for further medical treatment.

Volunteer firefighters rolled the van upright and both vehicles were towed.
