ANNAPOLIS, Md. — An Annapolis man was arrested Wednesday afternoon following a sweeping narcotics investigation that led to the seizure of multiple firearms, more than two pounds of cannabis, and an array of illegal drugs and paraphernalia.

Detectives with the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Western District had been tracking suspected drug distribution activity in Severn, Annapolis, and surrounding areas for several months. Their investigation identified 29-year-old Orlando Ray Coleman Jr. as a suspect allegedly operating out of a residence on Croll Drive in Annapolis.

On July 30, 2025, at approximately 1:30 p.m., officers from the county’s Southern District, alongside Annapolis Police, conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of West Street and Westbridge Drive. Coleman was taken into custody without incident. Investigators then executed search warrants on his person, vehicle, residence, and a storage unit believed to be linked to his operation.

The searches uncovered a cache of weapons, including an HK 416 rifle, two loaded handguns—one of which was a ghost gun—and a loaded extended magazine. Detectives also recovered over 750 grams of suspected cocaine, nearly 1,200 grams of marijuana, 23 bottles of suspected promethazine, 999 individually packaged suspected MDMA gummies, and quantities of heroin, crack cocaine, psilocybin mushrooms, oxycodone, and unidentified white powders. Four digital scales with residue and over $8,000 in cash were also seized.

Coleman is facing 22 charges, including multiple felony counts of drug distribution and firearm-related offenses. He is accused of possessing a firearm in the commission of a drug trafficking crime, illegally possessing regulated firearms and ammunition, and distributing controlled substances while armed.

Court records show Coleman was held without bond following a bail review hearing on July 31 in Glen Burnie. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 27 in Annapolis.

The case remains under investigation by county police.

  1. Congrats to AAPD on a job well done. Thanks for removing another criminal from the community. He is obviously a danger to everyone. Drugs and guns can only lead to violence. Hopefully the courts will hold him without bond. After successful prosecution give him a long sentence in the big house.
