Annapolis, MD – Legislation to extend the time children of law enforcement officers who die in the line of duty can receive death benefits passed the House of Delegates on a final reading Monday night with a unanimous vote of the 136 delegates in the chamber.

House Bill 1581, the Harford County Deputy Sheriffs Dailey and Logsdon Benefits Memorial Act, next goes to the State Senate where its sponsors, Harford County’s eight delegates, say they expect the legislation will receive an equally warm reception.
