Boone’s Bagels Expands To Mechanicsville With New Saturday Location At The Barns At New Market

MECHANICSVILLE, Md. — Less than a year after opening its Leonardtown storefront to long lines and overwhelming community support, Boone’s Bagels is expanding its footprint in Southern Maryland with a second location in Mechanicsville.

The locally owned bagel shop announced on Facebook that it will begin serving customers every Saturday at The Barns at New Market, with its first day of operation scheduled for June 13.

“We’ve always believed that great food has a way of bringing people together,” owners Leslie and David Boone said in an interview with The BayNet. “Since opening our doors in Leonardtown, we’ve been incredibly grateful for the support of our community, and we’re excited to take the next step by joining the local farmers market on Saturdays.”

The new Saturday operation will allow customers in northern St. Mary’s County to enjoy Boone’s Bagels offerings closer to home.

“This decision wasn’t just about growing our business; it’s about making our bagels more accessible to the people who have supported us from the beginning,” the Boones said. “We know that not everyone can make the trip into the heart of Leonardtown during the week, and the farmers market gives us an opportunity to bring our products closer to families, neighbors and visitors who may not otherwise have a chance to experience what we do.”

Guests visiting the Mechanicsville location can expect classic bagels topped with house-made cream cheese spreads, hearty breakfast sandwiches featuring ingredients such as fried eggs, bacon, cheese and avocado, and three of the shop’s most popular lunch sandwiches stacked with fresh meats, vegetables and toppings.

In addition to its food offerings, Boone’s will also feature a variety of beverages.

“We want visitors to be able to grab everything they need for a great start to their Saturday — whether that’s a hot coffee and bagel on the go or a full breakfast sandwich with one of our specialty drinks while they explore The Barns at New Market,” the Boones told The BayNet.

Boone’s Bagels opened its flagship Leonardtown location in November 2025 and quickly became a popular destination for breakfast and lunch. During its grand opening weekend, the business reported selling nearly 2,000 bagels and more than 140 pounds of cream cheese as customers lined up around the block to support the new venture.

The business is owned by Leonardtown residents David and Leslie Boone, who launched the shop with a vision of creating a family-focused gathering place centered on fresh food and community connections.

The new Mechanicsville location at The Barns at New Market will operate on Saturdays, giving shoppers and visitors another opportunity to enjoy Boone’s popular menu closer to home.
