The detonation of four improvised explosive devices in a residential neighborhood in Dunkirk is under investigation, state authorities reported.
According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office, the incidents are believed to have occurred between July 1 and 8. The detonations of the “soda bottle bombs” occurred at a home on Two Sisters Lane.
The detonations were discovered by the homeowner.
On July 8 at 11 p.m. the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office dispatched an investigator to conduct a “post blast investigation.”
“The devices were determined to have been detonated on two occasions,” Deputy Fire Marshal John Nelson stated.
There were no injuries reported and no fire department response was required.
No arrests have been made in the case.
