The detonation of four improvised explosive devices in a residential neighborhood in Dunkirk is under investigation, state authorities reported.
According to the Maryland State Fire Marshalโs Office, the incidents are believed to have occurred between July 1 and 8. The detonations of the โsoda bottle bombsโ occurred at a home on Two Sisters Lane.
The detonations were discovered by the homeowner.
On July 8 at 11 p.m. the Maryland State Fire Marshalโs Office dispatched an investigator to conduct a โpost blast investigation.โ
โThe devices were determined to have been detonated on two occasions,โ Deputy Fire Marshal John Nelson stated.
There were no injuries reported and no fire department response was required.
No arrests have been made in the case.
