Callaway woman charged with assault and CDS possession

Callaway, MD –  Deputy L. Johnson responded to the 45000 block of Buck Redman Road in Callaway for a reported assault. The victim alleged the suspect, Donna Lacey Bernich, age 38, of Callaway, assaulted the victim by scratching and pointing a taser at the victim.

Bernich assaulted another victim who tried to intervene during the fight, and both victims displayed visible injuries. Bernich was arrested and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center.

During a routine search of Bernich, deputies recovered suspected Oxycodone in her possession.

Bernich was later charged with two counts of second degree assault and CDS possession: Not Marijuana.
