PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — Calvert County is adding some familiar faces to key positions within the county. On the recommendation of staff, the Calvert County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) confirmed four appointments at their weekly meeting on Tuesday, May 12, 2025.

Constituent Services Specialist Emily Shrieves presented the appointed candidates for confirmation:

  • Rebecca Rhodes for the Calvert County Commission for Women
  • Lisa Sanders and Cedric White for the Calvert Marine Museum Board of Governors (reappointments)
  • Valerie Miller and Albert Lane for the Cove Point Light Station Commission (reappointments)
  • Patrick Parise for the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board (reappointment)

After these appointments, there were still 12 vacant positions in these groups alone. County Commissioner Hance encouraged the public to look into roles in the county.

Following the appointments, the board approved the following items through uncontested votes:

  • Cellco Partnership ground lease agreement (Department of Public Safety)
  • Annual health insurance renewal plan for July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026 (Department of Finance and Budget)
  • Chesapeake Hills Golf Course liquor and tobacconist licenses (Department of Parks and Recreation)

Seems like a good day to play golf.
