PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. – The Calvert County Department of Community Resources, Office on Aging, has launched a virtual activity center to provide older adults with programming opportunities normally offered through senior centers that can be easily accessed from the comfort of home.

Visit www.CalvertCountyMd.gov/VirtualSeniorCenter for virtual classes, lessons and activities designed especially for older adults taught by Office on Aging staff.
The virtual senior center features fitness lessons, nutrition tips, recipes, safety information and more. Residents are encouraged to visit regularly as new videos and programs are being planned and created.

“We are excited to offer this new resource for our senior community as another way to keep our seniors engaged and active while senior centers are closed due to COVID-19,” said Community Resources Director Jennifer Moreland. “Having that sense of connection is critically important to the well-being of the older adults in our community. Even after it is safe to reopen the senior centers, this resource has the added benefit of helping us reach those who are unable to travel to and participate in senior center programs.”
