CALVERT COUNTY, Md. — Foster’s Grille in Prince Frederick and Trifecta at Harbor Island Marina in Solomons were both granted liquor licenses at the July 24 Board of License Commissioners meeting. Both restaurants received Class B on-sale beer, wine and liquor licenses.
Foster’s Grille is a chain with locations in Virginia, Florida and Maryland. The Prince Frederick location is being brought to the area by Scott McKee, Jeremy Campbell and Joseph Smialek, who own the La Plata and Waldorf locations as well. Foster’s is best known for its “charburgers.”
Foster’s was granted a temporary approval pending the completion of their paperwork and hopes to be open by Labor Day.
Trifecta at Harbor Island Marina is a new independent venture in Solomons, owned by Ashley Mason, April Whiteman and Meagan Ricker. The “trifecta” represents the three owners. Trifecta is located at 120 Charles St., in the space that was formerly the Charles Street Brasserie.
Mason said that the restaurant will serve a fusion of Southern Maryland cuisines with “a Polynesian twist.”
Trifecta is also eyeing a late summer opening date and recently announced on their social media that they’re hiring for bartenders, servers, line cooks, bussers and dishwashers. They’re hosting an open interview event on Tuesday, Aug. 5, from noon to 4 p.m.
Representatives for both establishments confirmed that all patrons would be carded before being served alcohol at their establishments.
