CHAPTICO, Md. โ€” A helicopter was requested Sunday afternoon for a 46-year-old man who fell 20 feet from a tree on Abells Cattle Trail in Chaptico. The Chaptico tree fall was reported to the BayNet around 1:30 p.m. on September 14, 2025.

Emergency crews responded to the Chaptico tree fall at an Abells Cattle Trail address in St. Mary’s County for the fall victim. The helicopter landing zone was established in a large open field near the incident location, according to emergency alerts.

The circumstances surrounding how the man fell from the tree have not been released. Patient condition and transport details have not been confirmed by authorities. This is a developing story.
