WASHINGTON – Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) released the following statement on the June Jobs Report:
“The jobs report released this morning shows the United States added another 206,000 jobs in June. We have now seen 41 months of consecutive job growth – an encouraging sign that reflects America’s remarkable economic strength. The total jobs created since President Biden took office in January 2021 has reached a historic 15.7 million, and unemployment remains near its record low at 4.1 percent. Earlier in June, we also received news that inflation has continued to go down, and Democrats remain laser-focused in our work to continue lowering Americans’ everyday costs.
“The continued strength of our historic economic recovery provides a sense of stability and hope at a time when Republicans and the conservative majority on the Supreme Court are casting doubt on our democracy’s future. Our economy’s success depends on our democracy’s integrity. Democrats are committed to preserving the principles enshrined in our Constitution – values we all celebrated on Independence Day this week – just as we are devoted to lowering costs, creating new jobs, and building safer communities by implementing the laws we passed last Congress.”

So full of crap
Tell us how many of these jobs are Federal Government job ,which add to the inflation rate.
Please tell us the truth once in a while we would love to have an official from the government who could do this!
Over 33%!
He told the truth, just not ALL the real facts.
Please tell me how Federal Government job add to the inflation rate? (I’m dying to hear this answer!!)
More money is printed to pay their salary. Before you say “taxes”, if taxes paid for that we wouldn’t be $36,000,000,000,000 in debt. There are over 2,000,000 federal employees, so it does contribute to overall inflation.
“Please tell me how Federal Government job add to the inflation rate?”
In June, about 67,000 jobs were new government jobs, which means they don’t produce any products or provide any services, which generates cash flow. The 67,000 jobs only cause the printing of more money to pay them, thus deepening the National debt, raising taxes and causing the rate of inflation to go UP!
Wow…that post is one of the most extreme examples of an utter lack of knowledge about the subject matter that I have ever read…on any subject…ever.
“Biden created 15 million jobs”
There are people who believe this
He needs to retire! I’m sick and tired of people talking about the jobs report! Don’t people realize that people need 2 jobs in this economy to survive? And most of these jobs are part time!
Well that is just a lie. There are roughly 5.1 million Americans holding multiple jobs. This is roughly the exact same number as 2018-2019. (you can verify this by going to “FRED” the Federal Reserve Bank of St Louis’ Economic Database and searching multiple jobholders…there are two reports…two full time vs ft/pt combo)
There are currently about 161 million working Americans. In 2018/2019 there were between 154M and 159M working Americans. (you can confirm this by going to the Bureau of Labor Statistics and pulling up the Employment Situation Report–Table A for currently numbers and the historical Table A data for 2018/2019 numbers)
On a percentage basis a smaller percentage of Americans hold 2 jobs today that in 2018/2019.
No, people do not need 2 jobs. No most jobs created are not part time. You are sick of “people talking about the jobs report” because the report does not conform to the fake news propaganda you consume. Here’s a suggestion: go read the employment situation report for yourself. You won’t like what it will tell you, but at least you won’t sound like such a fool next time you comment.
