Chesapeake Beach, MD – Nashville recording star Phil Vassar opened the season at Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spa Thursday evening. It was a perfect March night. However, the calendar read May 21.
Every member of the audience was given a blanket courtesy of the resort and spa, which will arguably be the region’s number one oasis for showcasing talent this summer. The performance was the kickoff for the resort and spa’s 2015 Rock the Dock season.
Vassar and his three bandmates warmed up the crowd with a variety of familiar tunes made famous by other artists and his own hits that have climbed the country charts. His list of hits includes “Just Another Day in Paradise” and “Last Day of My Life.”
The Lynchburg, VA native was named the Academy of Country Music’s New Male Vocalist of the Year for 2002.
Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spa will have live entertainment seven nights a week through late September. The performers will be showcased at the resort’s iconic dockside band shell.
