
HUNTINGTOWN, Md.— Firefighters responded early Friday morning to a reported structure fire in the Huntingtown area of Calvert County.
Crews were dispatched at approximately 4:50 a.m. Jan. 2, 2026, to the 2100 block of Lowery Road. Upon arrival, firefighters reported fire visible from one side of the structure, prompting a working fire response.
Firefighters deployed attack lines and worked to control the blaze while additional crews assisted with ventilation and overhaul operations. Water was supplied to support suppression efforts as crews worked on scene.
One person was evaluated by emergency medical personnel at the scene, but no transport to a hospital was required.
Firefighters operated on scene for approximately two hours. Mutual aid companies assisted with operations, and support personnel provided assistance to crews during cleanup.
No further details on the cause of the fire or damage estimates were immediately available.
