SOLOMONS, Md. — Country music fans across Southern Maryland and beyond are gearing up for one of the summer’s most anticipated events as three-time GRAMMY Award winner Darius Rucker is set to take the stage at the Calvert Marine Museum’s Motto Mortgage Preferred and RE/MAX One Waterside Pavilion on Thursday, July 10, 2025.
The concert is part of the popular Waterside Music Series, which has become a cornerstone for live entertainment in the region. Known for attracting major national acts to an intimate waterfront setting, the series continues to elevate its reputation with this year’s headlining performance by Rucker.
Rucker first found fame as the lead singer of the iconic rock band Hootie & the Blowfish, which sold more than 25 million albums worldwide. Their debut album, Cracked Rear View, went 22-times Platinum and remains one of the top 10 best-selling studio albums of all time. Since transitioning to country music in 2008, Rucker has continued to soar with four No. 1 albums and 10 No. 1 singles, including his Diamond-certified mega hit “Wagon Wheel,” which is among the top five best-selling country songs of all time.

In addition to his musical achievements, Rucker is a New York Times best-selling author and a dedicated philanthropist. He has raised millions for charitable causes, including the MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, public education initiatives, and junior golf programs through the Hootie & the Blowfish Foundation.
Adding to the excitement, rising country star Shane Profitt will open the evening. The 25-year-old Columbia, Tennessee, native has captured attention with his commanding voice and down-home charm. From mowing ditches in his hometown to earning standing ovations at the Grand Ole Opry and performing at the legendary Ryman Auditorium, Profitt’s rapid rise is a testament to his talent and determination.
With hits like “Still Picks Up” and the Top 15 country radio single “How It Oughta Be,” Profitt brings an energetic and heartfelt opening set that will set the tone for an unforgettable night of music under the stars.

Tickets are priced between $80 and $140 with all-in pricing. Calvert Marine Museum members will have early access to tickets beginning Tuesday, Feb. 11 at 10 a.m. EST. Public ticket sales open Friday, Feb. 14 at 10 a.m. EST. All tickets should be purchased exclusively through Etix.com, the official ticketing partner of the Waterside Music Series. The museum advises against buying tickets through third-party resale sites, as their authenticity cannot be verified.
Proceeds from the Waterside Music Series support the education and preservation efforts of the Calvert Marine Museum. This event would not be possible without the generous support of the community and many local businesses.
Don’t miss the chance to see two generations of country stars light up the waterfront stage in Solomons.
