ANNAPOLIS, Md. — District 30A Delegate Dylan Behler has been appointed to the Maryland Historic Trust Board of Trustees (MHT).
Behler announced the appointment in a Facebook post on June 30, thanking House of Delegates Speaker Joseline Peña-Melnyk for the opportunity. Behler is one of two delegates who represent District 30A, which encompasses parts of Annapolis as well as the towns of Parole and Arnold. Behler assumed office in 2025 and previously worked as the chief of staff to State Senator Sarah Elfreth.
The Maryland Historic Trust supports historic preservation and revitalization across the state by providing funding and resources to care for historic sites. In addition to its preservation work, the organization operates Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum in St. Leonard, Calvert County.
In addition to providing grant opportunities, MHT showcases and promotes historical sites and activities and houses the MHT Library. The MHT Library is Maryland’s main repository for information about the state’s architectural, archaeological and cultural resources, supporting researchers, consultants, planners, students and the public interested in Maryland’s built and cultural heritage.
“As we prepare to commemorate our nation’s 250th anniversary, preserving and celebrating that history is more important than ever,” Behler wrote in the Facebook post. “I’m honored by the opportunity to help protect Maryland’s historic places and ensure they continue to tell our story for generations to come.”
