After investigating a complaint of numerous people being disruptive on the beach near Algonquin Trail in Lusby on May 16 at 6 p.m., Dep. Robert Traas and Dep. Aaron Locke encountered 4 females and 4 males, one of whom ran when confronted by police.
The crowd became loud and unruly as the deputies struggled to subdue the male who had fled on foot, later identified as John D. Hannabass, 19 of Lusby.
Hannabass was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and resisting arrest.ย Shawn M. Paul, 18, and Gregorik B. Collington, 21, both of Lusby, were each charged on a criminal citation withย possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia (a grape Dutch Master cigar, used to inhale marijuana).ย Maurice M. Bennett, 19 of Lusby, was charged on a criminal citation with disorderly conduct and Stephen G. Joseph, 18 of Lusby, was charged on a civil citation with possession of an alcoholic beverage by a person under the age of 21.
