On Thursday, Sept. 24 and Friday, Sept. 25 Southern Marylandโ€™s professional baseball team makes history when the Blue Crabs take on the Long Island Ducks at 7:05 p.m. In just their second season of existence, the Blue Crabs have captured the Atlantic League Liberty Division first-half title, and their first playoff spot in franchise history.

With the division title, the Blue Crabs were given the option of either hosting the first two games or the final three games of a best-of-five first round playoff series. According to team officials, the Blue Crabsโ€™ success can be attributed to the great fan support they receive, so, the team decided to host the first two games of the series as a reward for their fans.

If the Blue Crabs advance to the Atlantic League Championship Series, they will automatically play games one and two on the road and then return home to the friendly confines of Regency Furniture Stadium for games three, four (if necessary) and five (if necessary).

The dates for games three, four and five of the Atlantic League Championship Series are October 3-5. The Atlantic League Championship Series begins October 1.

Individual ticket pricing for the playoffs will remain the same as the regular season individual ticket pricing ($6 for lawn seats, $9 for reserve field box and $13 for field box). Discounts do not apply to playoff tickets.

Playoff packages include tickets to all five games of the playoffs (if necessary), and the prices for these packages are $60 for field box seats and $40 for reserve box seats.

In the event that the Blue Crabs do not host five games during the 2009 playoffs, the balance from any leftover games will be applied to the customerโ€™s 2010 season ticket plan.
