Remembering those we lost on September 11, 2001โ€ฆ

Today is the dayโ€ฆElection Day in New York City (Tuesday, Sept. 10).

At the time this article is being submitted, the results of the NYC Mayoral race are not yet known. But I have felt all along that former Congressman Anthony Weiner could win, even though as of today, Tuesday, September 10, he is predicted to garner only 6% of the vote. Here are my reasons:

-name recognition;

-there are cases in American politics where even dead people have won elections;

-the citizens of Talkeetna, Alaska, a community of just 900 people located 115 miles north of Anchorage, elected Stubbs the Cat as mayor in a write-in campaign 15 years ago. Mr. Stubbs is currently recuperating from a vicious dog attack; he is expected to make a full recovery and will resume his regular duties of hanging out at the local General Store where he resides. -the late-night talk show hosts love him;

In just a few hours, weโ€™ll know how this election turned outโ€ฆ

In other news, tonight is also the night of Obamaโ€™s address to the Nation regarding the situation in Syria. Our President would do well to read Frank J. Gaffney, Jr.โ€™s article in theย Commentaryย section of the September 10ย The Washington Timesย titled โ€œMaking Things Worse in Syria.โ€ Quoting from Mr. Gaffneyโ€™s column, he states: โ€œUnfortunately, inordinate damage has already been done to our leadership in the world as a result of nearly five years of what passes for this presidentโ€™s s
