A Tavola Con Ellynne in Italia: Part 6

ย On June 24, our Lido friend, Patrizia, drove us to a little self-service cafeteria located right on the beach. Patrizia and Anne ordered Bigoli in Sauce (thick spaghetti, particular to this area), with onions and anchovies in olive oil, along with plates of grilled zucchini and potatoes. I ordered Tortelli con Ragu, and added parmesan cheese. We drank Acqua Naturalle (no gas…no carbonation!). Everything was pronounced to be delicious and the entire bill for three came to only 36 euros.
Since lunch was every bit as filling as dinner, we scheduled a light supper of “Snacks with Friends”.ย It had been threatening rain, so we pooled what we’d accumulated in the mini refrigerator of our B and B combined with some newly acquired items and made a small feast in our room with:
-Two tuna salad kits purchased from the Dollar Store in Lexington Park (which had travelled all the way to Venice with us in our luggage as emergency snacks)
-leftover breakfast rolls and fruits and assorted cheeses from our B and B breakfasts (such as Kiwi, peaches, apples, cream cheese, butter, etc.)
-a bag of Gelatini Italian snack mix bought at the local grocery store for less than 2 euros (similar to a bag of Chex Snack mix)
-Italian cookies (a gift from Patrizia from a local bakery)
-and last, but definitely not least, a chilled bottle of white vino frizzante wine (sparkling white wine)
