CALIFORNIA, Md. – On March 15, 2021, at approximately 12:53 p.m., firefighters responded to the garage fire at 21433 Onion Fields Lane off of Indian Bridge Road in California.
Crews first arrived to find flames and smoke coming from the interior of the garage. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and went back to service.
No injuries have been reported from the incident.
The Office of the State Fire Marshal has been notified.
ADVISORY: Enhanced Threat for Fire Spread through this afternoon.
Dry fuels, low relative humidity, and gusty northwesterly winds will produce favorable conditions for wildfire spread through this afternoon across portions of northern, central and southern Maryland, northern Virginia and the District of Columbia.
Residents are urged to exercise caution handling any potential ignition source, including machinery, cigarettes, and matches. Be sure to properly discard all smoking materials. Any dry grasses and tree litter that ignite will have the potential to spread quickly.
