PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — Yesterday evening, first responders were called to assist someone who was reportedly trapped underneath a lawnmower.

At approximately 6 p.m. on May 19, crews were dispatched to Chesapeake Avenue for a report of an adult male trapped under a lawn mower. Upon arrival, units discovered the male had gotten stuck underneath the vehicle after it overturned in a drainage ditch.

Volunteers from Squad 2, Engine 22, Chief 2-A, Safety 6 (Huntingtown Volunteer Fire Department), Maryland State Police and the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office located the male and managed to remove the mower and rescue him.

He was later transported by the Prince Frederick Volunteer Rescue Squad CO. 4 to a local hospital for a check up.
