CHARLOTTE HALL, Md. — What started as a locally loved business built on creativity, quality and community connection is now growing into something more.

Hicks Family Creations, known for its artisan charcuterie boards and thoughtfully curated offerings, is preparing to open a second location — this time in Charlotte Hall — expanding its reach while staying rooted in its mission to support locals.

“The new location will be in Charlotte Hall so we can also service the northern end of the region,” owner Hailey Hicks said in an interview with The BayNet.

The expansion marks a significant milestone for the business, allowing it to serve a broader portion of Southern Maryland while continuing to build on the loyal customer base it has established.

Expanding The Menu — And The Experience

With the new location comes an evolution of what customers can expect. While charcuterie remains at the heart of the business, Hicks is introducing a range of new offerings designed to elevate both everyday treats and special occasions.

“You can expect new additions such as chocolates, chocolate baskets, pastries and locally fresh-sourced flowers,” Hicks said.

The additions reflect a growing vision — one that blends food, gifting and experience into a single destination.

A Continued Commitment To Local

Even as the business grows, Hicks emphasized that one thing will remain unchanged: a strong commitment to supporting other local businesses.

“We will always source locally first for any products we buy,” she said.

That commitment is already taking shape through a new partnership with a fellow Southern Maryland business.

“We are partnering with The McKays and opening McKays Grapes Grains and Gatherings in Charlotte Hall offering gifts, specialty chocolates, liquor, small home goods and luxury novelty items to make every occasion special.”

The collaboration highlights a shared focus on quality, community and creating unique offerings customers won’t find elsewhere.

Looking Ahead To Early Summer

While an official opening date has not yet been announced, Hicks said the timeline is quickly approaching.

“The timeline is somewhere in June, early summer.”

As anticipation builds, the new location is expected to bring both familiar favorites and fresh additions to customers in the northern part of the region.

More Than Expansion — A Dream In Progress

For Hicks, the second location is about more than growth. It represents a step toward a long-term vision that continues to take shape.

“This is a stepping stone to my dream of opening a café one day.”

It’s a goal rooted in passion, creativity and a desire to create a space where community and experience come together — something that has already defined Hicks Family Creations from the start.
