At 3:37 p.m. April 21, Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to Cracklingtown Road and Logan Robey Place in Hughesville for the motor vehicle crash.
A 1997 Toyota Celica driven by Gerald Thomas West, 19, of Waldorf was traveling north on Cracklingtown Road approaching Logan Robey Place. West lost control of his vehicle on the rain slicked road while attempting to round a turn and crossed the center line.
His Toyota was struck in the driver’s door by a 2004 Dodge 1500 pick-up traveling south on Cracklingtown Road and driven by Elwin Lewis Kelly, 55, of Hughesville.
West was transported to Civista Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Kelly was not injured.
