
Johnny Lee Williams, Jr., 57, of California, MD passed away on December 13, 2024 at MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital in Leonardtown, MD.
He was born on January 29, 1967 in Washington D.C. to the late Johnny Lee Williams, Sr. and Justina (nee: Ezell) Williams.
Johnny was raised in Washington, and was the oldest child born to his parents. He is a 1985 graduate of McKinley High School in Washington, DC. He was employed by the USDA his entire career at a dependable and responsible Material Handler until his retirement in 2022. In 2009, he met the love of his life, Valerie Dangerfield, whom he married on February 26, 2021 in Prince Frederick, MD. He had a gregarious personality and an infectious smile that lite up any room he was in. He loved to entertain and host family and friends for get-togethers. He was a delicious cook, with one of his favorite dishes being his homemade lasagna. He enjoyed fishing and crabbing, playing Poker, Black Jack, and 10,000. In his younger years he was an avid bowler, bowling competitively on a league in Landover, MD with his god-brother, Timothy. He was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins (now Commanders). He loved deeply and enjoyed time spent with his family and friends.
In addition to his beloved wife, Valerie, Johnny is also survived by his children: Tenisha McDonald of Washington, D.C., Johnny Williams, III of Washington D.C., Marquis Williams of Washington, D.C.; Tierra Williams of Washington, D.C., and Imanu “Manny” Williams, of California, MD; step-sons, Tyrone Dangerfield of Chesapeake, VA and Michael Dangerfield of California, MD; brother, Keith Williams (Connie) of Lagrange, KY; sister, Tracy Williams of Hyattsville, MD; god-brother, Timothy Foster of Pelham, NC; and extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Carla Williams and brother, Anthony Williams.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, December 28, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with a Memorial Service celebrated by Rev. Dr. R.B. Nicks, Pastor of New Saint Mark Baptist Church, Baltimore, Maryland at 12:00 p.m., at Brinsfield Funeral Home, 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650. Interment will be private.
