LEONARDTOWN, Md. – On Saturday, May 24, 2025, first responders from the Leonardtown Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to the intersection of Coltons Point Road and Sunnyside Road for a reported single-vehicle crash involving a rollover.

According to fire department officials, the call came in at approximately 10:55 a.m. Multiple units responded to the scene, including Truck 1, Engine 10, Squad 1, and Chief 1A. Two patients were located at the scene and medically evaluated by emergency personnel. Due to the severity of injuries, a medevac was requested and the patients were airlifted to a nearby trauma center for further treatment. Engine 10 secured the landing zone for the helicopter.

Photos released by the fire department show the extent of the damage to the vehicle, with visible impact to the roof, front-end, and rear windshield, suggesting a high-speed rollover. The crash snarled traffic in the area while crews worked to assist the victims and clear the scene.
