On August 8, deputies responded to an assault complaint. Deputies met with the victim who reported that on August 7, she was at the residence of Domonigue Vonte Washington, 21 of Mechanicsville. The victim reported she and Washington were involved in a verbal dispute which escalated into a physical assault when Washington threw her to the ground and choked her. After interviewing the victim, deputies contacted Washington at his residence.
Washington was subsequently arrested and charged with second-degree assault.
