On January 15, 2011 at approximately 11:00 p.m. Deputy First Class Ruest was patrolling on St. Andrews Church Road in the area of Fairgrounds Road in Leonardtown, when he observed a Ford truck parked off the roadway with the lights on.
Dfc. Ruest investigated and discovered Joseph Larry Hammett, 47 of Leonardtown, was operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
Further investigation revealed the validation sticker displayed on the registration plate of the truck was stolen. Hammett was arrested and charged with theft under $100.00.
