BALTIMORE, Md. — Your art could be the next big thing scratched off a Maryland Lottery ticket. The Maryland Lottery is giving local artists a shot to turn their love for the state into something unforgettable with its Maryland Treasures Scratch-Off series, debuting in March 2026. From iconic landmarks to scenes only a true Marylander would know, this is your chance to share what makes our state special — through your own creative lens.

The Maryland Lottery is now accepting entries for its statewide art contest, celebrating what makes Maryland special — from Chesapeake Bay lighthouses to mountain views, blue crabs to black-eyed Susans. Whether you paint, sketch or create digital art, this is your chance to have your work featured on tickets sold at more than 4,300 retailers across Maryland.

Eligible artists must be Maryland residents age 18 or older, and entries must be original works created by a single artist. No collaborations or AI-generated content are allowed. Artwork should be square (4″ x 4″), vertically oriented, and submitted as JPG files — and most importantly, it must celebrate Maryland’s culture, landscapes, icons or history.

Each selected piece will receive a $4,000 award and be showcased on official scratch-offs and in Lottery promotions. Artists can submit up to five original, square (4″ x 4″) entries in JPG format through Thursday, Aug. 15, 2025.
