Mechanicsville, MD — The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office is probing a fire that damaged a car in Mechanicsville. The fire was reported at 1:11 a.m. Feb. 28 on Mechanicsville Road. Damage was estimated at $1,500 to the 1997 Chrysler LHS owned by Matthew Dodson.
According to Deputy State Fire Marshal Don Brenneman, the fire discovered by the owner originated in the passenger seat of the vehicle and was “incendiary” — set by unknown person(s).
No fire departments were dispatched to the fire and no one was injured.
