On January 18 at 3:51 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers initiated a traffic stop near St. Mary’s Avenue and Glen Albin Road in La Plata after observing a traffic violation.
Officers discovered the driver, Brian Keith Whitaker, 20 of Washington, D.C. and a passenger, James Lyndon Barnes, 20 of La Plata, were in possession of 28 baggies of marijuana.
Both suspects were charged with possession with intent to distribute.
Officer W. Mayhew made the arrest.
